My career as a therapist started with Massage. I obtained a "Sports Massage" Certificate" in the Netherlands, and continue to grow in this field until this very day. I was inspired by therapist in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. And used their techniques in my own treatments. I have 15 years of experience massaging people, and did a variety of courses. Over the years I created a combination of Deep Tissue, Myo-Fascia release, Sports Massage, Thai Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and Tuina. While working in Singapore, I built up a reputation that has drawn Singapore's biggest athletes to come for my treatments. I regularly worked with Marathon runners, Rugby, Soccer, Cricket, and Tennis players, to make them recover from their matches, training or injuries. I was also chosen by the biggest Yoga center of the City to treat their teachers.
Massage is a great passion of mine, and usually a treatment will include massage techniques.
My strongest technique is "Deep Tissue Massage". Many massage shops advertise with this technique, although rarely it is practiced properly.
A deep tissue massage can be quite intense for the patient. I will use my palpation skills to find the deepest muscular tightness, and I will use different methods to release the problem area from it's tension. Usually these places have been there for a long time, and can contain a big emotional load. It is not unusual for the client to experience great physical and emotional releases during a session.
It is important to know that I always adapt my strength to the body's allowance. I will try to connect with the tissue, and never surpass it's tolerance.
Most patients will experience 1-2 days of soreness or bruising after a treatment. This is completely normal, and part of the healing process. After that initial period, a difference in the symptoms can be expected.
Before booking an appointment with me, it is important to know that I am not a Registered Massage Therapist. I have obtained several certificates in different countries, and I have a lot of experience. But these certificates are not recognized by Canadian Massage Therapist Boards.
Therefore, this treatment will not be reimbursed by Insurance Companies.
